Ridgewood LeTip News Archive - November 2005

Happy Thanksgiving
11/22/05

May all our members and their families have a very happy Thanksgiving holiday. Remember there's no meeting this Thursday and the only tip we'll pass is to not let the in-laws drive you crazy.

Visitations Have Been Posted
11/21/05

Thanks to Eric Fromen for stepping up and devising a new visitation schedule. The first round are due on December 15th and assignments are posted in the Member's Area. Not sure what the heck a visitation is? Check out the "LeTip 101" section in the Member's Area.

Site Enhancements
11/17/05

Members can now view current and historical financial reports for the chapter in the members section. There is also a new link to LeTip International documentation, such as their suggested text for the letter new members are required to send.

Schedule Change
11/17/05

Beginning with our 12/1/05 meeting we will have two speakers per meeting. Each will have four minutes for a presentation followed by two minutes for questions. Watch for an updated calendar to be posted soon.

Seriously, 30 Seconds Folks
11/17/05

We voted in our 33rd member this morning and still have a few applications pending. That's great news, but it also means that we have to get serious about having our 30 Second Commercials actually be 30 seconds.  When the tip bucket comes your way please limit yourself to some variation of "My name is.... I am the the chapter's..... a good tip for me is...."

Thanks to Eric Fromen...

...for taking over as visitation chair. Please drop Eric an email letting him know whom you've visited so far in order to minimize duplications.

Don't Spend it All in One Place!
11/17/05

Greg DiBernardo left this morning's meeting with a few  extra dollars in his pocket after showing up with two qualified guests while holding the Poker Folder. Way to go, Greg!

Congratulations!

To Dr. Michael Stewart for earning his Blue Badge! Nice work, Doc.

Events in 2006
11/14/05

Today was the last scheduled Level One Seminar for 2005 in our area. As soon as LeTip International posts the 2006 calendar we'll be sure to update our information here. Also, our chapter post-holiday party now looks like it will be some time in February. Details to follow.

Happy Veteran's Day
11/11/05

We're all free to be entrepreneurs and attend LeTip meetings because of men who fought and died to make it possible.  Our thanks go out today to all our veterans and active military personnel.

Is Your Information Current?
11/10/05

All members are encouraged to check their personal entry here on the site to ensure that it's complete and accurate. If anything needs to be changed, or if you have no posted profile at all, please contact Scott.

Speaking of Dues...
11/10/05

Remember that in the member's area you can now pay your dues online, either by credit card or direct debit from your bank account.

Dues
11/10/05

Quarterly dues are now officially overdue. Members who have not paid by the meeting of 11/17 will be assessed a $10 penalty. Remember that we are a non-profit organization and we depend entirely on the support of our members to pay for room rental, catering and general Chapter activities.

Nice Room!
11/10/05

Our first meeting at the Woman's Club of Ridgewood was an unqualified success. The room is not only larger but a good deal more comfortable, and general consensus is that the food was much improved. We look forward to a long relationship with the Woman's Club.

Save the Date
11/10/05

Plans for our holiday party are starting to firm up. Currently planned is a get together for the evening of Saturday, January 14 2006. Attendance for each member is free, and each person will pay per-head for spouses and whatever other guests they care to invite.

Site Improvements
11/4/05

By popular demand, dues can now be paid online by using Paypal. See the link on the Member's Home Page.

Holiday Party Announced
11/3/05

The chapter has decided that in addition to the 4th Quarter Mixer on December 15th we will be throwing a holiday party, which will not be a dedicated recruiting event. Current plans call for the chapter to pay for members, and members will pay per head for their spouse or other guests. The party will be in the evening, probably in early January.

Still up in the air is which day of the week to hold it on, and the specific time and date. If you have any suggestions or requests with regards to the party please contact a member of the board.

Hasta la Vista, Glen Rock Inn
11/3/05

Today our chapter held it's last meeting at the Glen Rock Inn. From now on we'll be meeting only at our new venue, the Woman's Club of Ridgewood.

Recent Improvements
11/1/05

On the main menu we've added the ability to email the chapter, pass a tip or leave feedback. In the members area we have added a form to report an absence in advance. Something you want to see on the site that isn't here? Sounds like a good time to use that feedback form!
