February 8, 2007 - Real estate attorney Robin Gronsky says she’s the one to call if you “hated your attorney for your last transaction.” Robin specializes in hands-on, one-on-one work with her clients. When you call Gronsky Law Offices, you speak to your attorney, Robin, and not a paralegal. For service that takes the hassle and vagaries out your real estate closing process, Robin provides the personal touch that gets timely results.

Special thanks to Anne-Marie Church for the photo!
February 1, 2007 With their store, Tony and Gina Damiano have created a customer-friendly shopping experience with “eye candy” in every direction. In addition to new stock coming in regulary, Mango Jam is known for its “Gift Baskets with a Difference,” (and not just food), they have become the specialty gift store of choice for the area. Mango Jam ships anywhere in the U.S., and delivers locally.
February 1, 2007 The Glen Rock/Ridgewood LeTip Chapter’s “mortgage guy,” Bill Foley, emphasized that choosing a mortgage by rate shopping is not productive. Although the business is highly competitive, every mortgage company’s rates are the same. The answer to what is probably the biggest transaction most of our lives is to go with someone you know, someone who will sit down with you and look at the whole financial picture, not just the mortgage rate—someone like Bill Foley.
January 25, 2007 - Bob Finnelli, from National Card Processing Systems, in Rochelle Park, provided LeTip members with an inside look at the credit card industry.  He made a special effort to target his presentation to small businesses.  He stressed that small merchants “pay the freight” for many credit card companies,  and advised members to read the small print very closely.  Of real interest to LeTip members were his descriptions of the kinds of hidden fees that creep into such agreements—often adding an element of unwelcome surprise and unanticipated extra costs.

January 11, 2007 - Donna Camacho from Camacho Appraisals in Fair Lawn.

In a business with highly regulated fees, Donna Camacho’s Reliance Title Agency stands out, thanks to over-the-top customer service and her previous 10 years in the mortgage industry.  There were lots of heads nodding and murmured, "…I never knew thats…” around the room as she outlined the realities of title searches.  In addition to telling members that it is possible to close a real estate transaction with her title company, she also advised that re-financing requires a new title search and that home owners should always hang on to the old title policies.
