| April 5, 2007 - Donna Camacho, speaking on behalf of her daughter, Felicia Surak, from Camacho Appraisals. When a lender orders the appaisal it belongs to the lender. The borrower is intitled to a copy of the appraisal at closing but can not use it for any other transactions excecpt for that bank because the banks name is on the report. If they do not close with that lender a new appraisal needs to be done for the new lender with their name on it, that we will do at a reduced fee. The appraisal is good for 120 days before it expires and a recert of value needs to be done or a new appraisal. We accept mastercard and Visa. |

| March 29, 2007 - Computer Consultant Costa Rodis, today’s hot button is “to VISTA, or not to VISTA.” The answer is a resounding “maybe.” Some of the problems include programs that do not yet interface with the new operating system. Likewise, upgrades to VISTA don’t always work. The basic requirements for VISTA are at least one gigabyte of RAM on a computer no more three years old. Even so, start ups will take longer. Costa summarized the new software as making possible a “Mac-like experience with Windows.” Photo by Keith Verkem. |

March 8, 2007 Craig Lynch, from Complete Home Inspection, Inc., in Mahwah, NJ
Craig’s “show & tell” this week was an enormous computerized fan designed to
efficiently measure the volume of air in a home. The goal of this service
is a Home Energy Audit, which points out where significant heat losses
occur. According to Craig, who recently earned certification for conducting
such audits, “Once you know how leaky [your home] is, you can then easily
identify the source of the heat losses.” Craig also pointed out that repair
of such heat loss areas is usually a simple process homeowners can handle
themselves.
